Diamond Shockers was formed by leader Juri Suzuki and Sub Leader Luna Celeste Williams. The two girls were new to the music industry, just a few months after their release of their first singles. Both being on the same label, the girls met at the studio and ending up meeting each other for lunch. The two began to talk on how they would like to start a group with other talented singers and dancers and thus Diamond Shockers was born.
Juri and Luna then decided to hold auditions to for new members. They were thrilled when they met Mai, Lily, Rin, Yori and Ryu they were asked to be part of Diamond Shockers. The five agreed and were signed on to SenaPro Productions. The seven soon became close friends and began working on material.
Their first group single 'Shining Star' broke the charts at Number One for six weeks. Gaining popularity all over Japan as well as the United States, Korea and China.
